Stonington Pride is delighted to be creating a Very Queer Little Free Library for our community.
We are even more excited to be doing so in a sustainable, environmentally friendly way! We:
thrfted an old steamer trunk for the body of the library
were gifted some wallpaper leftover after a home reno for updating the interior
are using paints that were already purchased for another, previous project, and
thus far, all our books have been gifted second hand or purchased from thrift stores
Ensuring our efforts are sustainable in every way is extremely important to us.
Keep your eyes open, as the Very Queer LFL will be coming to the Velvet Mill very soon!
For those who have asked how they can support this project, we have a few answers:
If you'd like to supply some lgbtq+ books pre-opening, shoot us an email.
Once the library is up and running, stop by and drop off books/snag one yourself any time!
To support financially, you can do so through our co-founder/organizer Farrah Garland's BuyMeACoffee.
Farrah funds most of our projects directly, and now has a dedicated space to be able to track incoming support for those who would like to support them, and us, in making our Stonington Pride dreams a reality.
